Mitchell Hooks (April 2, 1923) is an American artist and illustrator renowned for his artwork for paperback books and magazines (The Saturday Evening Post, McCall's, Cosmopolitan, Redbook).[1]
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Hooks painted paperback covers for Avon, Bantam, Dell Books, Fawcett Publications and others.[2] He illustrated romance novels,[3] science fiction and crime fiction, such as the Ross MacDonald's Lew Archer, Peter Corris's Cliff Hardy and B.B. Johnston's Superspade series.[4]
Hooks illustrated How to Respect and Display Our Flag for the U.S. Marine Corps. He also designed film posters, including Dr. No and The Face of Fu Manchu.
